NIGHTRAGE To Utilize NONE Guitarist For VADER Tour
November 6, 2006Swedish/Greek melodic death metal outfit NIGHTRAGE will once again utilize the services of Pierre Lysell from the Swedish band NONE as the second guitarist for its upcoming tour with VADER. "We are going to deliver the best live shows we can and we will also introduce a new song from the forthcoming album," Marios Iliopoulos, NIGHTRAGE guitarist/songwriter, about the trek, which kicks off November 10 in Esbjerg, Denmark.
NIGHTRAGE recently announced the addition of drummer Alex Svenningson (ex-MINDFALL) to the group's ranks. "He came in the studio and he really nailed down our songs," said Iliopoulos. "He is a great guy and a suberb musician."
NIGHTRAGE will enter Hansen studios in Ribe, Denmark on November 28 to begin recording its new album, tentatively due in early 2007 via Lifeforce Records. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Spiral", "Reconcile" and "Scathing". "We are pretty satisfied with the material and we are looking forward to go to the studio and make a killer album," said Marios.
NIGHTRAGE has been confirmed for the Metal Healing Festival, set to take place July 20-22 in Greece. Also scheduled to appear are THE HAUNTED, TO/DIE/FOR, MYSTIC PROPHECY and EKTOMORF. More acts will be announced soon.
NIGHTRAGE was originally formed in Greece back in the year 2000 by Iliopoulos (formerly of EXHUMATION, who released three high-quality death metal albums, all produced in Sweden) and his friend Gus G. (DREAM EVIL, FIREWIND, MYSTIC PROPHECY). NIGHTRAGE released two albums on Century Media Records, "Sweet Vengeance" (2003) and "Descent Into Chaos" (2005),before they parted ways with vocalist Tomas Lindberg (AT THE GATES, DISFEAR, THE CROWN) and Strimell joined the band on vocal duties.
